Latin name: Shorea wiesneri
Also known as: White copal
Sweet, creamy and softly spicy, white copal is the gentlest of our copals.
White Copal Resin for Protection and Ceremony
This white copal is the resin of Shorea wiesneri, an aromatic tree resin reminiscent of pine forest. Its smoke is sweet and balsamic, with a slight spice, fuller than our gold copal. Copal has been burned in ceremony since ancient times, above all for protection, healing and initiation.
- Creamy, balsamic scent with a hint of spice – a warm smoke that fills a room without sharpness.
- Traditionally burned for protection – a calming, grounding resin for ceremony and meditation.
- Associated with self-awareness and confidence – used in ceremonial work when you need to stand firmly in yourself.
How to Burn White Copal
- Light a charcoal disc for about 20 seconds until it catches. Hold it with tongs, never with your fingers.
- Set it on sand or soil in a heat-proof bowl and wait a few minutes, until the edges turn grey.
- Place a small piece of resin on top and let the smoke rise. Add more as it fades.
For a brighter, more citrus version, try gold copal.
