The Yawanaw\u00e1 (yawa<\/em>\/white-lipped peccary; nawa<\/em>\/ljudi) su grupa koja pripada pano jezi\u010dkoj porodici i danas nastanjuje autohtonu teritoriju uz reku Greg\u00f3rio.<\/p>\n

The Yawanaw\u00e1 community is in reality a conjunction of people that includes members from other groups: Shaw\u00e3dawa (Arara), Iskunawa (nowadays known as Shan\u00eanawa, who live in a village close to the town of Feij\u00f3), Rununawa, Sainawa (generally known as Yaminaw\u00e1, who live in the Bag\u00e9 river region), and Katukina. This configuration is the end result of a sociological dynamic common to many Pano groups \u2013 alliances. Through marriage, the capture of women during warfare conflicts, the migration of families \u2013 and a series of historical contingencies.<\/p>\n
