Sananga Eye Drops, Amazonian Plant Medicine
Sananga is a traditional Amazonian plant medicine, used by indigenous tribes for generations. The drops are made from the root bark of a rainforest shrub. Hunters put them in their eyes before going into the forest, and say they give the surroundings more texture and depth, so animals are easier to spot.
The same tribes use Sananga against panema, a heaviness or bad luck that settles on a person when their energy is blocked. When a hunter keeps coming home empty-handed, Sananga is the first medicine they reach for.
What Sananga Is Used For
Sananga is traditionally used to cleanse the body, sharpen visual perception and reset the energetic field. It is common in preparation for healing ceremonies, because of its cleansing quality and the way colors seem brighter afterwards. Beyond vision, it is said to clear blocked energies on the emotional, physical and spiritual planes and to bring balance, focus and peace of mind.
What people report:
- Clearer day and night vision
- A calmer, quieter mind and better concentration
- Deeper meditation and stronger intuition
- More vivid and lucid dreams, when used about 1.5 hours before bed
- Movement of stagnant energy
What you may also feel:
- An intense burning and stinging sensation for a few minutes
- A restless or anxious feeling
- Suppressed emotions coming to the surface
How to Use Sananga
Lie down or tilt your head back, and put one drop in each eye. The burning is strong and usually lasts a few minutes. Experienced practitioners say the pain is part of the healing: do not fight it, breathe deeply into the discomfort and let the tears come. Keep the bottle in a cool place.
For external use in the eyes only. Not for internal use.
Contraindications
Never use Sananga with eye diseases such as a detached retina, cataracts or other eye conditions, and do not combine it with eye medication. People with very high eye pressure or non-functioning tear ducts should not use Sananga, as there is a risk of eye damage or temporary or permanent loss of vision. Always consult your healthcare provider before use.
Sananga is an indigenous remedy and does not replace Western medical treatment. If you have any doubts about your health, always consult your doctor or another medical specialist.
