Horsetail Tincture from the Zlatibor Mountains
This tincture is made from wild horsetail, Equisetum arvense, extracted in alcohol into an easy, concentrated liquid. In natural medicine it is traditionally used to support hair, skin and nails, bone strength and connective tissue.
- Silica for hair, skin and nails – silica supports collagen, which is why horsetail is used for brittle nails and hair.
- Bones and joints – traditionally used to support bone density and strengthen connective tissue.
- Urinary support and cleansing – a natural diuretic, traditionally used to reduce fluid retention.
Every step is done by hand, from harvest to the finished tincture, so the full spectrum of the plant is preserved in every bottle. The plants grow wild in the Zlatibor Mountains, far from industry and traffic, in clean soil never treated with pesticides or synthetic fertilizers.
How to Use Horsetail Tincture
Take 20 to 30 drops diluted in water, 2 to 3 times a day, best before meals. Use for 3 weeks, then take a 1-week break.
Precautions: Not for pregnant or breastfeeding women. People with kidney or heart problems, or on medication for them, should avoid it. If you have low potassium or take diuretics, consult a healthcare provider first. Horsetail may interact with diuretics, blood thinners and blood pressure medication. Do not combine with other strong diuretics, and keep a diet rich in potassium, such as bananas, oranges and leafy greens. Overuse may cause digestive discomfort or low potassium.
