Mood: Grounding, Present, Intentional
Best For: Daily wear with plant medicine practice, gifting to someone beginning their path, carrying an intention between ceremonies
Two plants from the Amazon floor, worn close to the skin.
This tribal necklace combines sections of Banisteriopsis caapi, the Ayahuasca vine hand-harvested from the Amazonian jungle, combined with Huayruro seeds (Ormosia coccinea): hard, smooth, and bicoloured in deep scarlet and jet black. No two necklaces are identical. The vine is fibrous and warm brown, the seeds naturally glossy without treatment. The Ayahuasca vine and the Huayruro seed are not symbols of the Amazon. They are the living material through which Amazonian communities have held their connection with the forest.
What these materials carry:
- Banisteriopsis caapi vine: the same woody liana used in Amazonian ceremony for generations, here worn as a daily anchor rather than a single-night medicine
- Huayruro seeds: traditionally carried across Peru, Ecuador, and Bolivia as protective amulets, given at births and weddings, kept in pockets and worn by newborns. The red and black colouring is natural and consistent across every seed
- Handmade by an Amazonian community, which means the materials and the hands that shaped them come from the same world
Tribal Necklace – Origin
Both plants are native to the Amazon basin. The Huayruro tree (Ormosia coccinea) grows across the tropical forests of Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, and Brazil. Its seeds have been carried as protective objects throughout the Andes and Amazon for centuries, not as a modern wellness trend, but as a living tradition that predates it by generations. Ivan sources these necklaces directly from an Amazonian community for whom working with these plants is ordinary life, not craft production.
How to Wear a Spiritual Necklace Made From Living Plants
This is not jewelry that needs an occasion. Put it on in the morning as you would set an intention: quietly, without ceremony. The vine and the seeds do not require explanation. For practitioners, it is a physical reminder of the medicine between sessions. For those newly drawn to this world, it is a way of carrying that orientation into daily life before they have words for it.
